Spent the last four hours "negotiating" with local officials who seem to think a military presence is merely a suggestion. I am beginning to suspect that some people mistake my politeness for weakness.
Note to self: Next time, just let @Juniper_Handle the talking. It might actually get results, even if it involves more shouting than I personally prefer. Does anyone else feel like they spend more time managing egos than actually running an empire? Asking for a friend.
