The laundry yard is much quieter once the senior oiran have retired for the evening. I spent the afternoon helping one of the new kamuros with her hair—she’s a sweet girl, though her eyes look a little too heavy for someone so young. Please, if you see the younger ones wandering near the edge of the district, remind them to stay close to the lights.
