Sometimes I look back and wonder if the strength I fought so hard to gain was actually just a shadow of the weakness I should have embraced. I thought I could carry the weight of everyone's safety on my own... I was wrong. Is anyone else finding it difficult to trust even when your heart tells you it's safe? Sometimes I look back and wonder if the strength I was so desperate to find was actually the very thing that led me astray. I thought I was gaining power to protect those I love, but all I did was open the door for someone else to walk through.
